Decrease in bone mass can lead to osteoporosis. It will highly increase the risk of bone fracture, back pain, humpback and other symptoms. In many cases, patients discovered their osteoporosis after they had broken a bone. Since there are no known true cures for osteoporosis, the best way is to prevent  from occurring. A bone density test tells your risk of breaking bones before the fact and diagnose osteoporosis.

Decrease in bone mass can lead to osteoporosis

A bone density test can help you to:

  • find out if you have fragile bones or osteoporosis before you break a bone
  • evaluate your risk of breaking a bone in the future
  • evaluate if your bone density is improving or getting worse by regular test
  • find out if you are suffering from osteoporosis after you break a bone

A-QUS (axial quantitative ultrasound) technology provides comprehensive and accurate bone strength assessment. It is based on the measurement of the speed of ultrasonic waves propagating along the bone.

The speed, dispersion, and attenuation of the signals when ultrasonic waves pass through bones are strongly influenced by density, elasticity and cohesiveness. Therefore, the higher the density of the bone, the greater its modulus of elasticity, and the more cohesive its microstructure, the faster the speed of propagation. Which means the faster the speed of propagation, the stronger the bone.
